So I just had an interview with Mc Carty talent agency in SLC Utah. After looking at my resume the guy interviewing me said "Oh I didn't know I was interviewing you for acting". I told him, "although I went to college and studied theatre the main reason I was seeking an agent was to do modeling". He looked at me half confused and said "but your a trained actor why would you give that up"? Good question I haven't given up acting I simply have not done anything with those skills for the past 5 years. He then told me " come back in two weeks I would like to have you do a cold read".
Two weeks seems like a long time to me but I guess nothing gained nothing lost at this point. The agent also told me he didn't see me making much money as a model but that if I had the skills in acting than I could possibly be a talent for their agency. So I guess we will see in two weeks if I still have the acting skills I once had before starting my family.
I am kind of bummed that he did not find me to have the right look for modeling it's hard to hear "you aren't what we are looking for". So as soon as I got home and tore right into a chocolate truffle, hey, if I am going to be an emotional eater for the day my treats are going to be better than just a plain waxy candy bar. As soon as my kids heard the crinkle of the wrapper they came running. So I shared my decadent treat with three toddlers and cried a little about not feeling pretty... ho hum... than took my thoughts to more important matters like laundry. Utah Truffles are awesome by the way well worth the $1. Just so all you readers know I believe in having treats once in a while their is joy in food and when I am feeling glum I love sharing food with my kids whom I love the most.
